Thugil: Weaving Timeless Elegance since 2020

Brand Origins and History:

In 2020, Thugil was born out of a shared
frustration among friends who struggled to find affordable and beautiful
sarees. Witnessing the decline of cherished weaves, our founder Abirami
embarked on a journey to revive the legacy. Learning the art from her mother
and grandmother, Abirami, alongside her mother Gayathri, explored unique weaves
in Tamilnadu in 2018. Thugil, meaning 'quality clothing' in Tamil, started as a
small venture to assist family and friends and has evolved into a prominent
brand with 200+ partners and three warehouses across India. In just four years,
Thugil has delighted over 10,000 customers globally.

Brand Value Proposition:

Thugil stands out in the saree industry by

weaves while infusing modern designs. Our founder, fueled by meticulous
research, aims to uplift the weaving community by collaborating with them to
create contemporary designs. Thugil's unique approach contributes to the
positive development of traditional weaving practices, bridging the gap between
tradition and modernity.

weaving techniques, and regional aesthetics. Our sarees cater to a broad
